Dry Erase Board

I felt like I needed to make my sister an inexpensive present to open on her birthday as she had already received her actual present before we celebrated... so after seeing some projects on pinterest, I thought a dry erase board would be PERFECT for her, plus this was really quick and easy to make!

It all started with an inexpensive photo frame, this one is 8 x10. You can write on the glass with dry erase markers all you want and it cleans easily. Dry erase board are not cheap, and who wants a plain white one when you can customize it for a fraction of the cost?!

The inspiration for this one came from her love of sewing and the birthday card I made her:

Tea Party Kit

I can't believe it's almost the middle February already... so far 2013 has flown by! I was super busy last month, recently came back from vacation and now I'm feeling I need to craft! It was nice to take off some time after Christmas but... I feel like I've been neglecting my paper and stamps lol.

Anyways, speaking of  Christmas... this was a present I made my sister :) A Tea Party Kit!!!

The kit includes:
8 invitations and coordinating envelopes
8 thank you cards and coordinating envelopes
8 envelope seals
8 favour boxes with tags
8 cupcake liners
8 cupcake toppers

My sister asked me for tea party ideas a while back and showed a lot of interest in planning one so I thought this would be a perfect, customized gift for her :) I used CTMH's Tea Time stamp and "K" monogram for the the majority of the pieces.

Here's a couple close ups of some details:

I am so happy she LOVED opening this! I also loved working on a variety of items and not just cards... it was a great project to work on here and there, and before I knew it the entire package was complete and I was so proud of how it turned out.

Thanks for looking! I'm thinking I may sell kits like this, probably with a banner so stay tuned for that :)

My Little Man Mini Album (my first mini!!)

Apologies for not being around lately.... Happy New Year to one and all!!

I've taken some time away from my crafting for the past little while to focus on me. The holidays were super busy... I baked about 40 dozen cookies, 6 batches of brownies and I've needed some time to myself to recoup :) In other news, I also booked a trip to Disney World so I've been distracted with planning an amazing week lol.

My upcoming trip to Disney World actually inspired this project. I really want to make a  travel journal to capture all the memories of my trip and though I had kept a lot of souvenirs from past trips... I've never actually scrapped them. This trip is super special to me for many reasons so I'd love to record it. So I did some research on 'travel journals' and found lots of cute mini album-esque ones... but there's 1 problem - I've never made a mini album! (And surely I don't want my travel journal to be my first one lol... I need to practice the craft).

So... I went through my supplies and found some really cute masculine paper I've been hoarding for... oh gosh, I'd say about 2 years lol... and started crafting!

Here are some pages of the mini album:

I think it turned out super cute, and I feel pretty confident in making another 6..... or 14 of them :)

Thanks for looking :) And if you happen to want to buy the album - I have listed it on Etsy here.

Wedding Album is complete!

I had been working on my cousin's wedding album for quite a while... and it is complete, delivered and now I can move onto my next project (not sure what it'll be yet!). I'm so proud of how this gift turned out... it is the first time I made a scrapbook. I am a card crafter, I was never really into scrapbook layouts, but I am now! lol Anyways, enjoy browsing the pages :) To protect my family's privacy I have blurred any recognizable face in the photos.

Easel Card - Avonlea Calendar

Hi Peeps!

My apologies for being so late.... the Run For the Cure went well! I had a great time, the weather held up and I'm proud I contributed to a great cause. The winner of the card set is......... my grandma! :)

I've been really busy with life lately and I've been working on Christmas gifts and cards but I've kinda been put at a stand still because I've run out of adhesive!! The order I placed earlier this week finally got shipped today and I'll be back in business sometime next week :)

In the meantime I made something I've had in mind for the past little while and I think it'll make a great holiday gift for someone special:

It's a desk calendar! This is the first time I've ever made an easel card, and it turned out pretty well, I think :) I used the super gorgeous Avonlea paper pack from CTMH and Smokey Plum as an accent colour. The roses are cut out of Avonlea White paper with the Cricut Artiste cartridge... but they do not look white, do they?! I inked the edges with Petal ink and they look just like cool water roses (my favourite!!!)

The calendar I made in Excel, printed all the months, cut them to size and used Notepad adhesive to make a mini notepad. I purchased the notepad adhesive a year or 2 ago on Etsy and this was the first time I've used it (sad huh? lol I knew I would need it/want to use it someday!).

Anyways, that's all for now... Happy Thanksgiving :)

Tomorrow I'm baking Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting for thanksgiving dessert :) No crafting for me!
