Merry Monday #21

It's monday! Here's the sketch over at Lesley's Merry Monday Challenge:

I had a great cut-out idea... for this card and I think it turned out pretty well... the borders on the sides were hard to squeeze in due to the size of the cut out but it worked... anyways, hope you like:

Now, the reason I couldn't cut the snowflake any smaller is because I stamped and embossed it:

Though it is hard to make out the embossing because it's white on white! Anyways, this is the first time I used my CTMH Snowflakes stamp set (which coordinates with the Cricut Art Philosophy - which I LOVE!!!) and it's so fun to have coordinating cuts and stamps.

Here's the inside of the card - I think you can make out in the embossing a bit better :) and you can read the sentiment.

Thanks for looking!

Merry Monday Catch Up #1 & #12

Hey Peeps... here's another catch up for the Merry Monday Challenge I've been playing.

Sketch #1:

And my card:

I decided not to add a sentiment (yet) cause I feel like the card has enough going on. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy bundle for the cuts and the tree stamp (in Olive ink). The pink & multicolour paper were just scraps from my stash :) I may add some rhinestones..... but not too sure yet.... I kinda like the way it is already :)

AND.... ANOTHER ONE :)

Sketch #12:

Now, this sketch challenge was a while ago so I've gotten a chance to look at everyone else's entries... and fell in love with Leanne Pugliese's:

So here's my card inspired by Leanne's:

In Cricut Craftroom, I welded some trees and a house from Create A Critter to make this scene (I also put a heart in the house... :)) then I cut this out onto some kraft cardstock... I wanted it to look like gingerbread so I outlined the scene in white gel pen. I added this to a red base that I stamped with some snowflake stamps (CTMH Wonderland) and added some itty bitty pearls as snow (from CTMH too). Added my ribbon and stamped my sentiment (CTMH Wonderland) et voila!

LOVE IT :)

Merry Monday #20

Hi Everyone,

It's Monday... you know what that means!!! Lesley over at Always Playing With Paper put up a new sketch for the Merry Monday challenge!

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

I used a little bit of everything in this card. The stripe paper is from the Wonderland Paper pack by CTMH, the penguin stamp is from Stampin' Up (not sure what series.... sorry but it's retired and I bought it off ebay last year) and I used my Copics to colour it in. The blue stripe down the center is embossed using the Oriental weave Cuttlebug folder... and finally, it is embelished with purple buttons!

Merry Monday catch up #4

Wow.... more cards today! My Merry Monday catch up! Here's the #4 sketch:

And my card:

Anyways, I've decided to make 2 identical cards for each challenge I create for. These are my last for the day :) The kitchen table is full of homemade pita dough ready to go in the oven in about 10 minutes :) ... so no more crafting! On to a ton of baking/cooking/prep work for my Mother's Day dinner tomorrow :) (well.... maybe some more crafting... I have yet to decide if I'm designing menus for tomorrow's dinner.

Merry Monday catch up #3

Hi Peeps,

I decided this morning to start my catch up for the Merry Monday card challenges. Here's my card inspired by Sketch #3:

I created the mitten pattern paper myself by stamping random mittens from the Wonderland WOTG stamp set in Cranberry, Moonstruck and Crystal Blue ink. The sentiment is also from this stamp set :) I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on this WOTG because I LOVE the stampset and love the paper even more... perhaps I'll even use the paper pack for my next card.

Christmas in May!

Hi Everyone!

When I thought of some goals for the new year (in terms of my paper crafting) I set myself out to make at least 10 cards a month and I wanted to start participating in card challenges. Well, I've been keeping up with my 10 cards/month but I have yet to enter a card challenge.... until now!

Card challenges are great for inspiration, so I knew I'd want to participate in some in order to practice some techniques, improve my card designs etc. Well, I think I found a pretty awesome challenge, and I'm joining this week!

Merry Monday is a Card challenge in which you must make a Christmas card each week with the provided sketch/theme of the week... the idea is to get a head start on your Christmas cards and to create dozens of unique cards :) The Challenge is already in it's 19th week for 2012... (I'm going to use the past 18 sketches as inspiration) but as of now, I'll be joining this challenge weekly!

For this week, Merry Monday #19, here is the sketch provided:

And here is my entry:

My apologies for *possibly* ruining your lovely, warm, spring weekend with the thoughts of Christmas already!!! But you must admit, it's always the most wonderful time of the year!!! (So why not start early.......??)

Anyways, thought I'd also share my packaged topiary for my mom:

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out.... and so did everyone else! Thanks for all the lovely compliments to those who've seen it!

A few Pemberley Cards

Hi Everyone!

I finally started using my Pemberley CTMH paper pack! Here's what I came up with:

A simple birthday card... I may actually embellish this with a butterfly or two... but I think it looks lovely as is.

A Mother's Day card for Grandma :) I was inspired by this card by Jen del Muro... it is absolutely gorgeous so I tried my hand at a butterfly card!

And finally, my mother's get well soon card :)

Until next time! (Maybe even tomorrow!)

Paper Rose Topiary

Hi Peeps!

So that random rose ball thing that I previewed in my last post.... is a topiary!!!! It took just about 70 roses to cut and roll from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. (If you're a paper crafter and you do not own an Art Philosophy cartridge... you should definitely invest in one! It's extremely versatile but only available through Close To My Heart. So click on the "Shop with me" link to the right of the page to buy one!!)

Anyways, voila my topiary:

And a close up of the roses :)

I think it turned out fabulous!! Anyways... onto the next project! (Which will be something for my boyfriend, made with the Superhero paper pack... so stay tuned!)
