Thank You Dress Cards

I felt a little creative tonight so I decided to make a sample Bridesmaid thank you card. I'm tasked at making some for my cousin's wedding, so I figured I'd start designing :) I had originally seen this card on Etsy (seller: Cupcake555):

... and fell in love with it. Instead of cutting out a bunch of teeny, tiny flowers, I used a flower stamp to make the dress :)

First, I designed a dress in Cricut craft room and cut it out. Next, I used the negative, placed it on my card and stamped inside the dress shape. After removing the negative, I was left with a beautiful dress silhouette :) (This technique is similar to masking, though I`m not sure what it`s actually called). I embellished the dress with a bow, stamped thank you on the bottom and added some rhinestones. I think it turned out absolutely gorgeous! So gorgeous that I made more, but in different colours!

If you`re interested in purchasing these, I have them listed in my Etsy store :)

Merry Monday #25

As soon as I saw this week's Merry Monday sketch today.... I knew I had to create ASAP!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

As soon as I saw the sketch, I thought "snow globe!!" ... which is what I made :) I used little mini pearls as snow, and the stamp set is CTMH "Captured moments". I'll try and take a better picture later but I was excited to post my design, and new kitty Henry is not being very cooperative today, so it's harder to get stuff done.

Anyways, thanks for looking!

Merry Monday #24

Hi Peeps,

It feels like I haven't blogged in forever... and it feels like I haven't crafted at all lately. It's because we got a kitty!!!!!!! LOL Honestly, this cat takes up so much of my time because he's so cute, so friendly and I love playing with him! His name is Henry and he's a Himilayan and just about 14 weeks old. Anyways, I made my Merry Monday card last night, and sure enough Henry found a way to get into my ribbon box. Hopefully I can craft more next week, I have a lot to get done, and a lot more ideas to create!

Anyways, Here's the Merry Monday challenge for this week:

And here's my card:

Anyways, I gotta run... I have homemade pitas to put in the oven. I'll be back tomorrow with my Father's Day Card :)

Oh.... also, can't forget.... special thanks to Wendy for choosing my card last week as her top pick for Merry Monday #23. Wendy's work is truly beautiful - be sure to check out her blog!

Rustic wedding thank you postcards

I finished my order of wedding thank you postcards. I made 60 in total and they turned out beautifully! Special thanks to Katie and Judy for trusting me with designing the perfect thank you card. Basically, all I was told was "rustic wedding", "purple" and "cobalt blue"... so I ran with it and this is what I came up with:

I used a flower from the Card Word Puzzle stamp set (CTMH) and stamped in Petal and Cocoa ink. The thank you is from Stampin' Up, stamped in Moonstruck. I added the couple's initials with the Urban Alphabet stamp set (CTMH). Finally, I distressed the edges with Cocoa ink.

Merry Monday #23

Hi Peeps,

First of all, I want to give a special thanks to Narelle for choosing my Merry Monday #22 card as her favourite for last week's challenge! Thanks so much for making my day a little more awesome :) Be sure to check out her cards (here), they're super gorgeous!

Just a reminder to those who are interested.... Merry Monday is a challenge hosted by Lesley at Always Playing with Paper.  She posts a different sketch each week, and we make 1 Christmas card each week inspired by the sketch.... come Christmas, we'll have over 50 cards ready to share with our friends and family!

Now, onto Merry Monday #23, here's the sketch:

And my card:

I just LOVE this dark teal paper I used. I have so much of it and need to use it up somehow! Anyways, I used my Snowflakes Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the snowflakes on the white backgronud. I also embossed the bottom of the white insert inside the card with the snowflakes (you can see a peek in the photo). The ornament is cut from CTMH's Art Philosophy catridge and I ran that through the Bird and Swirls embossing folder. I adhered the ornament on the card with some white ribbon and it's actually pop dotted too to give some dimension (though it's hard to tell in the photo). I embellished the teal strip at the bottom with lines of rhinestones (you don't even know... this makes the card look super shimmery, it's so awesome! but again, it's hard to capture with the camera). Finally, I stamped the "very merry" (from Stampin' Up's Short and Sweet Stamp Set) sentiment with teal ink, heat embossed it et voila! I think this is my favourite Merry Monday entry so far!

Thanks for looking :)

Merry Monday #22

Long time no blog.... so sorry! I've been super busy lately and haven't had much time to make cards. Though, I am proud to say that I will be making 10-15 topiaries for my cousin's wedding :) It seems a little daunting but I have about 80 flowers already cut, ready to roll and I think I'm going to start those tomorrow!

I had to make time to craft an entry for the Merry Monday Challenge (yay! I really did not want to miss a week!) et voila the sketch:

And my masterpiece:

I decided to use the snowflake cut out from my last Merry Monday card (since I only used the negative). I heat embossed the snowflake stamp with White Daisy ink and clear embossing powder. Once again I used the CTMH Wonderland, Chocolate and Twilight paper. The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper and is stamped in Cocoa ink. A few pearl embellishments, and this card is ready for a recipient!
